Sitting in the hot sun, feeling the heat sink deep down to your bones... makes everything better. Add a salty breeze off the sea and a Magnificant Frigate or two sailing effortlessly overhead, that's my idea of paradise.

When I retired I swore I would never live for long where there were no Frigatas, I haven't seen any in Mérida but I'm sure there are some out at the Gulf. Meanwhile, I have Akumal.

I don't have much in the way of internet though, I'll be back when I return to Mérida.

As my friend Kate says on her blog, Life is Good.

After being away for more than a week, I just caught up and your update on the stuff going on at the house exhausted me. I did go through it myself, but as in many other things, once you're past it and you look back, you wonder how you ever did it. I too once told all the workers to go away and not come back until Monday - sometimes you just have to get your life back. I hope all works out soon!

Jonna, I am traveling in Guatemala and Honduras and have just caught up with your blog....I know this has been really hard dealing with payasos and other things, but you and your readers should know that your experience (and mine too, thankfully) is not the norm. Many expats have hired less than scrupulous builders and the idea that they would come back to fix anything is laughable. So hang in there and thank whatever you thank that Henry is so ethical.

And this too shall pass....enjoy the rabihorcados....Kathe

I AM extremely grateful for Henry, I think he is a little peeved with me right now though. You are right, many I know have had much more problems and no attempts at fixing it.

So, rabihorcados sent me to the dictionary but no help. I am guessing here but does it mean 'people who enrage you' ??

I didn't know you were in Guatamala. Say hello to the familia for me.
