Mary Kay mansion.

Just to put our little house in perspective, the other day in Mérida Mimi and I went to see another house being renovated.

This one is a mansion, I'm not fond of pink but when I try to imagine it some other color I come up blank.

I'm not actually sure if it is a renovation or a new build, everything appears to be new.

I can't help but try and imagine what it would be like to live in a house like this.

Of course, we aren't as formal as the house seems to require. I can't imagine 3 big dogs and an RV parked in front. Kind of the Beverly Hillbillies come to Mérida.

The stained glass transoms look old to me. Made me think about architectural salvage. In my past life I restored a 1907 Craftsman in Seattle, and made use of a lot of architectural salvage for missing parts. Do they have a lot of that in Merida? I have just heard that there are four places here in Mazatlan but we haven't found them yet. I would really love new ironwork for the back door and some old shutters for our front windows.

The house looks like a major restoration/remodel to me.

The concrete pond looks like a concrete lap swimming pond.

It is a beautiful house but not my style either. It seems a bit pretentious. I am not sure if my flip flop and capris dress style would be welcomed there. However, if someone were to give me that house I imagine that I could fit in and live there with no problem. But the pink would have to go!
