I've tried to put the pictures of the house in some kind of order, sort of a tour. I put them here on Flickr.I'm exhausted. We've been out and going from 10am to after 10pm for the last 2 days. It's 3:30am now and I've been messing with these pictures - and tossing the bad ones - for hours. You can leave comments and questions on Flickr if my descriptions don't make sense, which is quite likely considering how tired I am. Or, you can skip the whole house thing and I'll be back to life on the beach by tomorrow night.
I love you all, but I've got to go... to bed.

Jonna,
Thank you so much for putting the photos up. It is a lot of work.
I am going to go back later today and look at them again to try to understand the house a little better, but so far I can see that I adore the floors and I love that your spaces are large and have such high ceilings. Paul and I were reading yesterday in our living room and we were so comfortable - and I attribute it to the large space, high ceilings, and ceiling fans.
Our upstairs office has windows on the east and west side....we love all the light but we were suffering from too much sun. Curtains just didn't help much. So last week we had installed some Hunter Douglas roller shades that can black out the room...in the morning roll them down on the east side and in the afternoon the west. Now I can sit at my computer without sweat rolling down my back into my shorts! So, I guess I am asking if you have thought also about window coverings?
More later, get some rest!
Oh wow, you guys are really living the dream. It's going to be a beautiful house. I can't wait to see it when it's finished! (I bet you can't, either.) ;-)
Soooo jealous....
I slept 8 hours and I feel much better today, I love this B&B but the bed... not so much.
We have thought about where the sun and heat come in, a lot! The downstairs has almost no windows. There are small (1' and smaller) skylights in the ceiling of some rooms but the living room has zero. The light there will come from the hall and the kichen but it won't be a lot. We laughingly started calling it the 'media room' yesterday. I think it will be much cooler that way and that's fine.
The street in front runs east/west so the only place that gets strong sun in the morning is that private patio off the master bedroom. Our bed will face east. We are not morning people, and that's a mild statement. So, we are having wooden doors that fold up to the sides there and have smaller windows that can be opened in them. Before 10am, solid wood facing the sun!
I'm going to try and blog some more of the thoughts and decisions we made yesterday. Now, I've got to go off again to arrange for more money.
Princess (love the name), it really is our dream. The gritty day to day might not be everyone's but for us it is just the best ever. For instance, all that running around yesterday was exhausting with traffic and no AC in the jeep. It would be better if we were here every day and took it slower but then we like being at the beach when it is hot. I really can't complain about those choices!
I thought I left a comment a couple days ago, but I guess it did not hold or take or whatever comments do. Thank you for posting the photographs. My favorite are the tile rugs. Nice touch.
