I have links and pictures! First off, the store I was in is called Amati and they have branches in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Puebla (Fned!) and Italy, according to the website. It's a cool web site but may take a while if you have a slow connection, it's got a lot of Flash and fades and music and all that.
I found the stuff we bought there. First off the turning chairs/lounges that we both fell in love with.
I really love them in the red, I wish that one hadn't been sold. I could order it how I want but they were having a Sale! and I got an extra 10% off on in stock merchandise but not if I ordered.
The covers all come off though, and I'm already considering having other covers made in either sunbrella or leather. We'll see how I like the black and white tweed look. I wish it showed more of how they spin to face different directions.
Here's the ottoman except that the cow hide pillow is black and white on ours. It may not stay, we'll see.

The couch. Ours is in a warm dark brown leather.
I'm so relieved, I still like all of it. That's good on the morning after!

I love all of it! We have similar tastes for sure. I can't wait to sit on those sofas when we're invited for a Merida weekend, lol! (We'll keep Max's dirty little paws away from the nice stuff, promise!)
Beautiful.
We have a mix of modern pieces and rustic Mexican and it works beautifully in our old house.
I especially love the big couch, perfect for lounging, napping, reading, computing, chatting, the whole enchilada.
Great looking, I wish I had the room for them. On the "Swivel Love Seat," I get the idea how the swivel and unfold. I don't understand the two legs at the tail end when unfolded. Where do they come from?
The 2 legs are inside a zipper and deep up in the foam. You unzip it, reach in and pull them out and down. You can't feel them when they are put away and you're sitting on it as a chair. In fact, we tried it all different ways to see if it had that hard line some futons do and no, it didn't. I think a lot has to do with the quality of the foam.
LOL Kelly,
Not to worry. We decided long ago not to get anything we wouldn't want our animals on. Two legged variety included. Grin
i love the chairs/sleeper/futon-ish furniture.... the swiveling sounds wonderful.... and yes.. red would be great to have...
good choices jonna...
Thank you for the photographs. However, your descriptions were so detailed, I knew exactly what you had purchased. I did a similar thing with my current house. It is a 1920s art deco, but I decided to fill it with modern Italianate furniture. Mainly black and white, but some grays. And then I acquired the love of my life: my golden retriever. All of the furniture has suffered. But I don't care. I bought it to enjoy life. And I have. And you have made my day by making the same point. Brava.
Yeah, after finally ditching the last of my mother's antiques on my son, we vowed to never have anything that we had to worry about using it. At some point, life is just too short to spend it teaching the dog not to get on the sofa.
We are hoping that having a lot of leather will keep some of the dog hair clean up easier. Plus, our dogs shed black and brown, thus our color scheme ;)
Ya'll did a GREAT job. Just make sure the dog's nails are clipped and don't puncture the leather.....I have an l-shpaed sofa and I LOVE it, even after 8 years! Black and white was a GREAT choice. Buy some red pillows if you want that color - those you can always change....but you MIGHT have gotten tired of all the red after a while.....
Nice furniture :)
perfect! and you have the space for nice bold furniture. I love slip covers, especially fitted ones and washable ones. The red pillows would rock, what colours are your floors?
regards,
Theresa
Hey Babs, have you seen Soft Paws?
http://www.softpaws.net/about.html
They come in dozens of colors and they have them for cats too. I just love the idea of Chica running around with pink nails! Mimi is less fond of that idea. However, it is an idea for leather furniture. We'll see.
The floor tiles are a dark blue and off white in a traditional pattern. They are laid as a rug in the center of the room with the surrounding floor in white cement, which is more of a tan color with swirls and color changes in it. I haven't figured out the walls yet. Henry has convinced me, at least in the beginning, to only put color up to chair rail height and off white above that.
Love the furniture... so classy!!! I also vote for a black and white combination with red cushions. Can't wait to see the effect it will have in the house!
Fned.
