You know that bumper sticker that says a bad day in paradise is better than a good day at work, or something like that? It's true, really, it is.

I had my version of a bad day Tuesday, it was hot and muggy and I spent the whole day in Playa driving around in traffic in my jeep with no ac and nothing seemed to work - one of those days. But, you know, it was still better than any day I ever spent at work. I'm just saying.

The best part of the story is that I realized it even when I was so frustrated I was almost crying and so hot and so sweaty and just so damn over the whole day - I still knew that on a cosmic scale it wasn't shit. So, that's my lesson of the day.

Tonight I am completely in awe of how gorgeous the moon is over the water, how cool and refreshing the breeze off the ocean is and how just flat out unbelievably lucky I am to be living here with all this beauty.

Little Tito is doing OK, not great and we are still worrying about him making it.

He has balls of steel though and he is afraid of nothing, well, he tries to hide it when he is afraid anyway.

He needs to poop more though and if that doesn't happen in spite of Mimi's many tricks then he is off to the vet. We don't want to lose him now because we've fallen so in love with him.

I wrote this Wednesday night but Blogger has not been letting me upload since then. At first I thought I could upload the blog and just the pictures were a problem but it turned out nothing would go. Tonight, all is good so you get to see all of Tito's cuteness.

Isn't he adorable? He has that little snuggly toy that used to be a dog toy until they got done ripping all the stuffing out. We cleaned it up and he loves sleeping on it.

He also has a hot water bottle with a snuggly frog cover and he gets on that when he's cold.

OK, one more pic. I can't stop taking pictures of him and each one is cuter than the last one.

We're still worried about him, he's pooped some but not all and Mimi says he was impacted and could still be a little. I hate thinking that we could lose him. I hate his screaming when she is trying to get him to go. I hate that we can't feed him much until he does go. He's so tiny and so brave and so vulnerable.

Hey! I think I recognize that hot water bottle! Isn't that the one you loaned me in Ophir, Oregon a couple years ago? I think I named it "Fred". Well then Tito's bound to get better if he's sleeping with "Fred" right? He is soooo cute. What a lucky little guy to wind up with you two.

I think it is Ilene, I forgot the name was Fred. Tito and Fred, has a ring to it ;)

We're more encouraged today. The last of the pieces we could feel through his belly is out and he's getting to eat a little more. He still gets water every other time he eats. The problem Mimi thinks is that he was soo young, everything wasn't formed up well yet and he got too much food too soon.

Oh! Is there anything sadder in the whole world than a sick little kitten??? My heart just broke. But I'm glad to see he's doing better! SO CUTE!

And I am really envious of your lifestyle. I wish I was watching the moon over the ocean right now....

Hi Jonna and Mimi! It was so nice to see you guys again at the Akumal clinic and at La Lunita....where I will take a little bit of credit for helping to name little Tito ;)
I'm not usually a cat person but was so taken by his preciousness! I am sending good poopy thoughts his way.
Hope to see you in August when we return to Akumal.

Heather, Not only can you come hold the cutest kitten in the world, but we'll even let you feed him too! Plus, take you to Yal Ku. I'll give you a ring today, we'll be around all weekend.

Cristina, Please give Chepo a big scritch behind the ears for me! Love to you Judy and the rest the kids as well.

Wayne, thanks for the vote of confidence!

Cheryl, Good to see you too. Yes, lets have drinks in August! Preferably something really cold!

Hey Princess, I'm missing the view from the top of Parmalee Gulch road in Indian Hills this week, so think we're even. :)

Ilene, I remember you and Fred now. John was sooo jealous I thought he was gonna leave you. j/k :)

Babs, Thanks, I believe he will too!

I am not much of a cat person but that hasn’t to be the CUTEST kitten ever. I hope all goes well and the little guy makes it.

He is the cutest little thing. I guess they don't have KMR (kitten milk replacer) here? It's hard on them when they get weaned too early. But, I have confidence that Mimi can fix anything,so Tito is in good hands with your two.
regards,
Theresa
ps maybe he needs nopale too?

Yes, they do have kitty formula here. It's French even! He's not getting cow's milk but whatever is in this French milk replacement for kittens. He just got too much of it in the beginning. From his lack of teeth and stuff Mimi thinks he was closer to 2 weeks old than 3. She will NOT allow me to start improvising his diet so no nopales :)

He's doing much better, he is getting around really well and pooping regularly and we are very encouraged. That Mimi, she is the best! I think she kept him alive by force of will, or maybe it was the anal stimulation but we won't go there!

Ladies, he is just PRECIOUS. Glad to hear he's pooping, is he taking the milk a bit better now that it's not so thick? Did you check out GLOP? Buzz and Ziggy send poopy love!

Hey, you know when women have babies at the same time they get all bonded? Here's hoping we have kitten bonds, our babies are only a couple of weeks apart! (But I am NOT breastfeeding). :)

Go fab mamis!

No breastfeeding but the way he goes after my nose when I'm trying to get the bottle in his mouth makes me wonder what my nose looks like to him.

After they get all their baby shots and worming done, we could have a 'play date'!!

yes, I think Mimi did check out the GLOP. She's been quoting more web sites lately. Tiny little high 5's to Buzz and Ziggy from Tito.
