Have I mentioned how much I love watching Craig Ferguson, the late night host? He cracks me up! I haven't been this hooked on a late night talk show since Johnny Carson quit. Not to say he is anything like Carson, but then, the times are different and Johnny would be much too proper for these times. But I did love watching Carson and then he quit and I lost interest in the whole genre. Jay Leno can be amusing when he talks about his cars, David Letterman is kind of blah and Conan O'Brian's voice grates on my ears.
Anyway, Ferguson is addicting. I actually pay attention to what time it is now so I don't miss his monologue. Me, who never watches TV and hates comedy shows. Check him out if you can stay up late enough, you cheeky monkeys!

I'm (a young) 61 and am surprised to find myself enjoying Craig as well. Funny you should bring this up, as I have found others recently saying the same thing. Glad to hear that you do too.

I was doing a google search for "M. Walter Pesman" and stumbled across your recommendation of his book: "Meet Flora Mexicana". I'm glad to see that after all these years, it is still providing value!

How wonderful for you to comment. I love these odd little connections that the internet allows. Your grandfathers book is sitting here next to me, I found a used copy on Amazon as it is out of print. Inside the front cover is a handwritten note that says "From Barbara and Mike Sanford" - could this be your parents? How amazing!
It's a wonderful book on the flora and fauna of Mexico. There are beautiful detailed drawings of plants and a color map of the vegetation zones of Mexico. I love this book.
