We sit here reading and watching the reports from New Orleans, I feel anger and disgust but mainly sadness. I love this country and feel such disappointment in how poorly prepared, how poorly executed the relief is and how poorly we have responded to a much anticipated disaster. It's shameful and I am ashamed for all of us.

Our Info
Since September of 2001, Mimi and I have lived in our 27' RV, Tortuga, spending winters in Mexico and Central America and summers in the US. We've had a condo on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, in Akumal, for over 10 years and in 2007 we bought a 100+ year old colonial in Mérida that we are starting to renovate. We lived with our 2 Yucatan beach dogs Hombre and Chica for 4 years and in October of 2007 we added another rescue, Cuba. It's getting crowded but once the house is done we will have lots of room, maybe too much room. I wonder sometimes if we will all get lost in so many rooms.
